Turns out there are a lot of fan-produced 'mini-movies' out there (10 to 20 minutes) that I wasn't aware of... but I recently found out that in about a month there will be a new one coming out that is almost the length of a "real" movie. It's called SW Revelations and has to do with some of the beginnings of the Rebellion. I think that's quite neat actually.
And best of all, since it is fan-produced, it'll be free to download! Now that sounds pretty cool to me!
To download the trailer try this URL:
http://www.panicstruckpro.com/revelations/revelations_media.html
From there you can browse the rest of their site to find out more info. Free downloads will be available (after official release of course) on TFN and others.

That film looks pretty good. Sure the acting is a bit ropey and the fight scenes don't look as "ninja" but the special effects and CGI look awesome.
Here's my favorite Star Wars fan film from Dude Studios. There's remakes off the original trilogy and Phantom Menace and they're very good (and short!).
This is the best fanfilm ever made - Batman: Dead End...

I had to go look up "Troops" again recently. Heh. That was pretty funny IMO. Not sure about the "dudes" stuff. Haven't made the time to watch that yet.
Revelations came out recently and it's available for download now. I rather liked it. Some people were very picky and ran it into the mud on TFN but I think they were just being overly picky. You get what you pay for, ya know? And this was a deliberate attempt to set a new standard. Now new long-length SW fan films will probably be on the way. I hope to see lots of them.
For those who haven't seen it yet, you can download here:
