I just recently found out about this game, while I was looking up information about SE5. I think I found a link for this when I was looking up something someone else mention on gamespot forums called "sins of the solar empire". I was confused when I saw a link for this, since its so close in name to another game I've played called "Horizons'. So I looked at it, and was happy I found you guys! Even if some of your posts say it was posted in 1969 which is wierd
Any idea of what time the game will be released? Beta testing or anything? or even a demo? Sorry to be a bother, but really interested in playing this game!
Has me even more interested then SE5 does now, after reading on the goodies section.
thanks you all for working on such a wonderful game! |

Fideach aka Westly: Where am I?
The Albino: [raspy voice] The Pit of Despair! Don't even think...
[clears throat]
The Albino: ... don't even think about trying the game. The wait is far too long. Don't dream of being answered, either; the only answers are secret. Only the Prince knows the answers and real life keeps him far from here for months at a time.
Westley: So I'm here till the game comes out or the project dies?
The Albino: Until they kill you, yeah.
Westley: Then why bother hosting a forum?
The Albino: Well, the Prince always insist on everyone being happy before they're broken.
Westley: So it's to be torture?
The Albino: [nods enthusiastically]
Westley: I can cope with torture.
The Albino: [shakes head enthusiastically]
With apologies all around. Or in other words, it would be nice to hear something new. _________________ Do not let light shine upon your opponent's mind through a hole in your body. |

lol, took me a second to get that one. Been a long time since I've watched STNG. So I take it the silence has been as long as it looks to have been by the dates of last forum replies?.. Oh well. I'm having fun reading about the game, even if it doesn't come out, at least I had hope for a while. I think I'd be happy just to get whatever version of it they have and work on it myself if they do drop it(which hopefully they wont). I think it one project that we could make open source, and everyone would work on to finish it for all.
But best of luck to them, and I hope they finish it soon. Usually heard and been told that when a gaming forum goes quiet, and the game is still in development.. it just means there really really busy preparing for something big in the game to announce.. dunno if that be true here though:S |

Not Westley the whiz kid from STNG, Westley the hero from the movie The Princess Bride. The dialog, a sample of which can be found at www.imdb.com , is only slightly modified for our current dispair over the length of development and periods of silence.
Zaimat is the Prince, and developer. It is possible he is really busy on the game or in real life. It is rather hard to tell from our position. I hope he is doing well, and I hope the game comes out eventualy, but this forum got my hopes up nearly 2 years ago. I've forgotten most anything I knew. _________________ Do not let light shine upon your opponent's mind through a hole in your body. |

I've never seen that movie, so my apologizes. Figured it was Sci-Fi related, and STNG is the only thing that game to mind.
Since there small and independent, its always possiable there busy with both the came and in real life. So best of wishes to them. hehe, but as it is, I'd donate to help get the game out if needed. If its anywhere near as what it sounds like, I'd be more then happy to help in anyway I could. Just wish I knew programming better
Edit: Had a spelling mistake:S.. Also got a question.. what state is the game in? I've seen posts from 2004 saying is going in beta and finalizing this or that. Just curious. |

Unfortunately the developers are not full-time on ONLY this game. Or at least unfortunately from our impatient perspective. From their perspective that allows them to keep paying the bills and the troops, which is probably a good thing... OK, it's definately a good thing... certainly at least from the perspective of the bank balances of the troops
They were hoping to go into beta awhile back but I think they are still in alpha -- or at least were last I heard.

Zaimat does come by and gives replies but he's not there all the time. Once in a while he shows up and answers many threads in a single session. The game is progressing (i am one of the first to find the page) even if it's slow.

I notice that he comes by:), and i'm aware the game is progressing. I would say my over excitment in finding this game, and the confusing dates that some of the forum has just has me a bit messed up on what exactly is going on. Sorry about that.
I'm glad I just found the game though.. if I knew about it when it first started, I'd be going through withdraw from not getting to play it.
Hopefully SE5, and Dominions 3 will keep me busy intill this gets done. |

I suppose one of the main reasons the forum has become a bit slient, is due to the fact the game and this website was found so early, so a lot of the discussion about the game has already taken place and many of the questions have been made and aswered, so now we just wait for any scraps we get from on high to fuel further discussion, and get our hopes up of an early completion and release. |
