I've been meaning to do this for awhile now.. Gathering a list of historical/war/sci-fi/movie quotes and putting the best ones on the site and/or in the game to spice things up.
This is your chance to contribute and have a little fun at the same time. I think everyone likes reading these and I'm sure everyone can come up with a few. I've already got a short list and I'll be posting one a day until I run out.
The rules are simple:
1. Nothing political (at least nothing too recent that may offend anyone)
2. The source (who said it, from where, etc) if you know
Those who come up with extra good lines, well let's just say they may score bonus brownie points. _________________ Horizon - Lead Designer |

"And so it begins." -- B5, Kosh (original), Season 1
"They couldn't hit an elephant at this distance." -- Maj. Gen. John Sedgwick, U.S. Army, just before being fatally shot at the Battle of Spotsylvania Court House, May 9, 1864.
"My duty is not affected by what others may or may not do to discharge their own." -- Honor Harrington, On Basilisk Station (1993), by David Weber.
"The world's best swordsman doesn't fear the second best; he fears the worst swordsman, because he can't predict what the idiot will do." -- Honor Harrington, Flag In Exile (1995), by David Weber.
Guess I better leave some for others!

As your desire is, so is your will.
As your will is, so is your deed.
As your deed is, so is your destiny.

"I must not fear.
Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear.
I will permit it to pass over me and through me.
And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
Where the fear has gone there will be nothing.
Only I will remain."
- Bene Gesserit 'Litany Against Fear', Frank Herbert's Dune. |
