So there I was at home, playing UFO: Enemy Unknown, when it occurs to me that we haven't heard anything about any special abilities the other races may possess (I'm getting a bit of a battering by the alien psionics again).
Of course, we saw something similar to this in MoO2's racial feats/flaws, such as the Darlok's inherent modifiers for espionage. So what say you Zaimat? Any chance of a yes/no at least? |

Definately yes. We've tried to make the races a LOT more unique in Horizon than any game seen before (at least in this genre) and game play follows this design principle.
Hopefully the presentation of the alien races will impart some of this |

Any chance of a sneaky-peek into the alien mindset? |

| I used to play UFO: Enemy Unknown all the time back in high school. However, today with the faster computers I find it impossible to play the game becasue when you're trying to intercept an alien craft the earth rotates way to fast. Is there any way that you know of - to slow down how fast the earth rotates? |

There are a few options. You can get CPU killers but they are so imprecise, like trying to use a chainsaw to do brain surgery.
Or you can get a program that emulates a slower machine. Some professional-quality ones are so complicated they natually slow even the most powerful P4's to a crawl, but they do the trick. Of course, they're also not cheap.
I used a free one called DosBox some that worked really good, but it was DOS only -- but then, isn't UFO a DOS game? If not, they had some links to some others that might do windows. How good the others are though I don't know. Anyway, feel free to check them out...

Fortunately I'm playing it on an P3 730, but the Earth is still too fast.
Rob's advice is good and sound. The only thing I would say is that some emulators can be problematic for the odd computer or two. Loading them up will make your computer will fall over.
Finding out what boot-up element to say "no" to in the step-by-step, can be tricky. As I've learned to my cost. |
