While we have little else to discuss, I just thought of something. I'm curious about how people found out about Horizon. What drew you here? Did you find out through a web search, or did a friend tell you about it? Or perhaps a link on another site/forum?

If you can't remember precisely I understand. I know a few of us have been here a few months already and may have forgotten. But if you do remember, please tell us.

i'm already looking forward to the day when the forums get crowded, and all the surviving "vanguards" can show-off with their elderly status. Very Happy Wink
even better would be if all the 0-posters that only registered to see the goodies months ago would be deleted.
none of them will be comming back with their old account, i would bet.

on topic: i found the forum/site with some search engine (not google) by chance.
some term brought up a link to the old forum on page 4 or so of the search engine, and there i was.
nearly no info (only the trailer IIRC) on the site, but some comment of ziamat mentioning star control 2 and some other game i like made me stay.

and btw rob, am i right with the assumption that you hate paradox?
whatever the reasons are, we all can only hope that horizon gets the same care from the developers the paradox games do get from theirs...

I can't remember exactly how I found the forums. It has been sooooooo long.

I have been a member here since 1970, (for real, just check the members list) and a lot has happened in the last 30 years. As a matter of fact, nearly my entire life. Razz

Heh yeah I forgot about that little forum-transfer bug... that means I registered 8 years before I was born! Wow, I must be talented.

Actually I'm not really sure who Paradox is. I strongly dislike anybody who *could* but deliberately *won't* support their games, though... but that doesn't sound like that's what your describing at all. There aren't a lot of other reasons why I would dislike the *company*... might not like any of their games, but I'd have nothing against the company.

Don't quite remember where I picked Horizon out. Likely it was either a post on the old orionsector.com board or the Galciv board. Don't remember which.

I was one of many who found this website through a post on Moo3. A Refugee if you will.

Well i found it by searching on google for "new strategy game" or "new space strategy game"...not sure which one. Shortly after starting to post here (way before 1970 Wink ), i asked Zeimat if i could write about Horizon in other forums as the game was still in early alpha...when he told me i could, i made some posts on various forums (moo3 atari and galciv being a couple of them)...and suddenly i wasn't alone here anymore Wink

You... and I'm holding you personally responsible if it turns out like some of the others... Wink

P.S. I've recognized a few old friends so far on this board... so hi all. I guess we're all still searching for that 'Ultimate Space Strategy Game' we were promised so long ago... Twisted Evil

Came following a post on ATMOO, probably the post Anguille made.

Post on ATMOO as "The Wagster" but decided to change my name here for some reason. I registered in the early 70's so I can't remember the reasons for the name change exactly... Wink
