The way I see the retreat working is that the ships would automatically try to evade the enemy, rather then the current always try to engage the enemy. That way I can tell some ships retreat and then go focus on a different battle. As is stands if I give orders for a ship to move somewhere and then ...

If you could separate out the by building type, that would be awesome. Something on the order of T, E, F, I, R 1/3, 1/3, 2/4, 2/3, 3/3 Or just have T, E, F, I, R 1* 1* 2* 2* 3 were the asterisk means that the building have not been to maximum of that type.

At the moment toxic planet's must be cleaned of pollution first, but that is currently not working because the game keeps the population from growing above 50k and you need about 200m for the cleaning processes to begin. It seems when I have missions enabled with a custom human race, this version is very unstable. But if I don't enable missions, I can play several hours without issue. Errors have been submitted via the reporting tool: Clicking the "Comm" Button crashes to desktop End of Combat Game Freeze ...

I'm not sure that eco-adaptive and immortal/immaterial work together. When I have both traits, the population growth on a toxic planet is around -90% (no growth above the 50k).

With just immaterial, the population growth is over 100% (but still no growth above the 50k).

Yeah...
I found that my converting Toxic planets was in a game started under 4.57 not 4.58. Even with adaptive and immortal my Toxic planets don't grow in a game started with 4.58.

The problem game was started in 4.58
The working game was started in 4.57 or older.
In the working game I moved a ship out of communication range and tried the coms and it still worked.

Another difference between the games is I'm transient in the non-working but I'm not transient in the working.

Went to a different save game ... different setup, no missions ... (slot04) When I pressed "Com" the window came up and I could switch to a different ship just fine. Went back to the problem game and tested with ship that was in my communication range...still crashed to desktop. Difference...

Engaged a different sector. Press the "Com" button on the colonizer in that sector and crashed to desktop.

I can clean a toxic planet, takes about three or four turns, with just the first level of industry built on a freshly colonize planet.

Granted I choose the Adaptive trait, so my population can grow above the 50k limit.

Does cleaning a toxic planet require special technology?

I have been had several toxic planets set to "clean" for several turns and nothing has happened. In that same time other planets have gone from Volcanic to Barren to Metallic.

None of the other race's have a metallic homeworld, and I like the Terran picture the best.
