I got one for the surrender part: Owning 3/4 of the galaxy and being in war with the Varaians who had only 1 planet left, they came to me asking for me to surrender to them. When I find a planet with the scientist you mention, I usually have a dialogue screen pop up where he tells me to find two things for a weapons against the Varians. When you survey a planet and it finds something it puts an icon that looks like a pick and shovel. Is that what indicates a planet you should dig? Yes. I noticed that as well,and its not just the Gargals
Been at war with a race and have conquered a number of their colonies.
Then they suddenly come to me and demand I give them tribute or that I surrender, when I clearly have the upper hand.

If you play in mission mode I would think the reason you dont get a choice is because they are one of the two primary races in the game. When they surrender it means they give up their empire to you, which would be considered the end of the game, as in you win. Would you rather continue the war and ...

Currently ships don't gain experience. Warrior races start at Elite level while everyone else gets Veteran crew. Gaining experience is on the wishlist of things we'd like to add though. I see. That is correct, the economy stats show your gross income but it was showing the units erroneously (eg: billions would show in millions), we've corrected this for the next patch. Thanks! Hm. I seem to recall reading somewhere, Cant find it now, that colonizing within the supply range of the AI could also trigger this.
Supply range being indicated by the circle around a star system.
So if you colonize too close to them they tell you to stop expanding.

Planetary Beam weapon is Lasers at level 8. Starbase uses lvl 10 weapons, dont remember name right now, but not lasers. But still at 8 lasers should be sufficiently upgraded to hit at least 50% of the time, especially if I have the other mentioned techs at 10. And even if I had lower tech, the highe...

I noticed this discrepancy as well, I havent been able to check it myself yet, however could the numbers reported be your gross income and not your net income or treasury?
