Re: When can we expect some news?
Yes, we plan to support Horizon 2 for a very long time and that will most likely include DLC's and/or expansions. That's something we will decide post launch and we will also take into account what our community wants for new features. The Senate is one such possible feature as we won't have it in t...
Re: GOG?
I tried to schedule a meeting with them years ago during Gamescom but they didn't follow through so it never happened. I will try to approach them again after Horizon 2 is released and I have more time to set it up.

Re: When can we expect some news?
Hello everyone, 2020 has been a long and difficult year with the impact of this new corona world having also caused delays with the development of Horizon 2. The good news is that we still made significant progress and I continue to pour all my energy and time into it. A lot of the work this past ye...

Re: Ingame videos
There is a lot of video scenes in the game, about 40 of them. It took a lot of time to make these, something that's rarely done nowadays at least not in 4x games. List of video scenes in game: . Intro Story . Encounter videos one for each faction . Homeworld videos one for each faction . Colonizatio...

Re: Trade in Horizon 2?
Simulating Trade (and Tourism) was always important for your economy in Horizon. The presentation though was quite abstracted/at a High-Level on the map and on the colonies, with control limited to building choices and diplomacy pacts. We will have more control in the new game with diplomacy resourc...

Re: When can we expect some news?
Just to add further about the Galaxy Map size and how to capture that grand expansive feeling, we will have a full 3d visualization of the game map while keeping a planar (2d) interface. And because it is a seamless map (no transitioning into systems or combat) it is way bigger and more immersive. T...

Re: When can we expect some news?
Kind of a random question, but do you have any plan/idea for how large the maps in Horizon 2 will be? Our initial target is to have 4 galaxy map sizes which will encompass from 400.000 to 1.200.000 units (u) square on the largest map, which is quite vast. To give you a sense of the scale of the gam...

Re: Horizon let's play with the Kuntari
Thanks for your feedback! I am using very basic tools so far (Xbox and now also Debut Screen). Had not heard of Debut Screen but looks like a good tool. Not sure about the webcam overlay...has it's pros and cons. Yeah I think you could go either way. You could also turn it on/off depending on the t...

Ah Oui, I'm fluent in French having grown up in Montreal, even went to french college. For the videos, I am sure you'll get even better at it but really the most important stuff you already have it I think. And it will be great to post, also you can update the links in your OP here with all t...

Re: Horizon let's play with the Kuntari
Just started watching today and I finished the first 3 videos. You do a very good job of explaining the game play, and the pace and tone of your voice is really great also. You definitely have a knack for it! If you make a post (in french) on Steam Discussions I will pin it, I'm sure french speaking...

Re: When can we expect some news?
Hey Martok - it's good to see you back and looking forward to it. Work continues at a steady progress and since my last update we've been working on things like: Victory points system - Previously I had mentioned about how I had some qualms about it but I've since had a change of heart and implement...

Re: When can we expect some news?
Makes sense. I wonder if an aggressive AI empire will do it because they don't care (the Federation wouldn't do it but the Cardassians would surely do it). Definitely, this will be accounted for in the relations system. If they are hostile to you or don't respect you, they can ignore your borders. ...

Re: When can we expect some news?
So you mean that it's possible to colonize even if it's in the territory of the other nation? I guess a human player will think about it before doing it but will the AI nations do it as well or just keep on colonizing everywhere? By default, Ai players respect borders and will not enter or colonize...

Re: When can we expect some news?
Borders are based on influence, a colony or space installation can generate influence (based on various local factors) and that influence has a range and decay (curve) over distance. If two different factions have influence in the same region (border friction) the strongest prevails. Movement and Pa...

I've fixed the issue. It was not finding a linked file and the PHP server was rejecting the whole page, when the host upgraded the PHP server version.

Re: Terraforming
Terraforming planets can be very costly early on so I would say it's better to look for good habitable planets to colonize. But once you can't expand or there aren't good planets you can reach then Terraforming is the next best option.Osmond wrote:Is terraforming a super important thing to research fast btw?

Yes! We are working just as fervently every day, sorry for being so quiet. Things are taking more time but otherwise going very well. The reason there hasn't been an official announcement yet is for a few reasons: 1. My desire to focus on development for the time being (we don't have a dedicated per...

GDC went great, got some excellent first impression feedback from other developers trying the game out. The gentleman in the photos was nice enough to let me take a few pictures of him while playing to share it with you. I think he played for around 15 minutes (that's pretty normal during events lik...
