Is IT done YET???!
Doesn't look like it, but I JUST HAD to ask!
Truly I AM getting old. I'll be 56 in Feb. Will this be my retirement game?

Nope not done yet.
Got left out in the rain and kinda melted and ran down the gutter into the drain. Tried to fish it out..........but,.......came up empty again.

I think it is fair to day this game is done... as in dead. Stillborn really I suppose.
Too bad, it looked to have promise. _________________ Circuit Boi wannabe

Well I can't say anything authoritative of course, as I'm not in any way involved. But as somebody with more than a touch of software development experience of my own I'd guess that at least one of (and probably both of) two things happened:
1) Emergency priorities on other projects pulled people away from this one. As much as managers hate doing it, paying the bills and making money in the short term do have an extremely high priority, and sometimes the price is delaying another project
2) They got into the project and found something -- a subproject perhaps -- that was massively larger than expected. They were forced to reconsider how long things would take to complete and push back their target dates significantly, and instead of wasting a bunch of time trying to explain that to people who can't fully understand the world of software they just decided to wait on further announcements until they had some good news to report.
From what little I do know of the people involved, if it was truly scrapped I think they would have announced it and closed up the forums. So I think instead that something (or several somethings) has just caused massive unexpected delays instead.

Hi guys,
This is the reply i got the other day...

Hi Anguille,
I am well thank you. We have not stopped working on the game but due to financial reasons progress has been limited.
Basically we are doing other work to bring in income and that has consumed most of our time and energy.
I am working on changing that, so with a little luck things will get back on track sooner than later.

So the candle still flickers in the window.
Put another lump of coal in the stove.
Keep the coffee warm.

Checkin time again.
Probably redoing the game engine for Vista. :p
5 years ago XP was King, now Vista is rising and XP still hangs in there, but not for another 2-5 years.
:sigh: |

I think this is just a mirage.
Speaking of Vista, now soon Windows 7 will come. |
