. . . some cheese!! You what I mean, little things like short videos when I land on a colony, discover something or bombard a planet. Periodic pictures of my minions. Communiques with a face attached. Ship captains with names. (Maybe, captains that gain experience and grow with me as my empire expands?) Space monsters and random calamities. Sweeping panoramic vistas of my subjects cowering in fear as I beset upon them with a cruel, decadent, leather-clad masochistic zeal (. . . err, nevermind that last one, wrong forum <img border="0" src= "smileys/smiley9.gif"> ) All this in order to reinforce the notion that I am ruling an empire.

Galactic empires are full of people, not numbers. Please remind me of this whenever possible during the game. I want to be immersed in the game world. No playing a spreadsheet!

Here here. A bit of cheese does make you feel a bit more immersed in the game.

I love cheese!

I know what you guys are saying and believe me, nobody wants it more than me. It's what makes a space game fun and 'real' and the reason why we are in this.

The first priority is the basics or game mechanics to function well and unfortunately that too often ends up taking most resources and time. Working on this game has been challenging to say the least.

The good news is we do have quite a bit of cinematics already done, I'd say more than what you are accustomed to seeing. And we are going to add as much interactivity as we can to make the galaxy come alive. I can't promise we will have everything, heroes are probably beyond the scope for this version. But the major races, their background stories, culture are all very well defined. If we can get that and some other things across to the player the way we envision it, the immersion factor will be there. Stay tuned.
