Did you spot the TV reference?
With regards to the rather lovely Goodies Section, I was wondering whether you would clarify some points for me Zaimat?
1. Are we looking at in-game screenshots, or are these cutscene pieces? Perhaps it's a mixture of the two?
Now would be a good opportunity to say in-game, so we can drool over the carrier and cruiser and dream...
2. If they are cutscenes, will we see some of these at stages in the game such as initial deployment of fleets etc.: an example would be the terraforming FMV from IG2. (Whilst I know you've mentioned FMV in a previous post, I think we could all do with a refresher now that we're faced with lovely things to look at!)
3. Whether they are cutscenes or FMV, how much change on-screen will depend on the "loadout" of our ships i.e. if my carrier had different fighters/bombers or heavy flak cannon, would this show up? Perhaps this is not even a relevant question - answers on a postcard.
4. Is that a military or civilian satellite, and will we be using these in our grand quest for sneaky galactic domination? Maybe my long-held dream of memetic warfare will be realised...Broadcast propaganda to the enemy masses-Nyah ha HA HA HA h_ Sorry. |

Looking good. It'll be interesting to see how the aliens respond to galactic circumstances. How will the Gargal race seek to expand it's newly-formed imperial status, and how will that effect the Tantik Intelligence? Will either seek to eliminate the upstart humans as they hove unceremoniously into view?
Intriguing times indeed... |

Howdy Anguille,
Another day or two and it should be ready. Was hoping for last friday but we've been too busy and we wanted a good presentation and that means more work. |

Alright mate. I suppose your boffins are working away on the GUI as we speak. It'll probably receive much attention and "refitting" over the beta.
A look at the other races would be nice though. It's best to know the enemy in advance! } |

All in good time..
First the 'bad' news: it's not likely we will be showing interface screens until mid-to-late beta for very good reasons (I'm sure you guys understand).
Now the good news: we plan to release regularly more info and more graphical goodies on the different aspects of the game, like races etc. In fact there should be an update this week if all goes well (time wise).[edited] |

| [Ravana]Hear, hear! Let's hope there's another update soon. The main screen would be nice (still haven't been able to look at the downloads) <img border="0" src="smileys/smiley18.gif" border="0"> as you can generally tell a lot from that. |
The teaser movie is pretty good, but it doesn't really show us anything 'about the game'.
C'mon guys how 'bout a wee taste o' the good stuff. |

[Sobriquet] Yea, looks good. I am too impatient though. How much longer until we can start to see some real meat of the game? Interface screens, races, etc.
You just keep plugging away at the game, and I'll do my part and continue to pester you for updates. |

| [Zaimat]We have not planned to show different configuration of ships visually (ie: a carrier with different loads or weapons). This is one of those things that would be nice but there are a lot of other more important things to the gameplay we would like to get done first. |
Of course. That really is the best answer for us if you look at it logically.

Quite the little adventurer, and one of the most successful, as well as ambitious, space probes ever launched from Earth.

Everything you see, the ships etc are used directly in the game, just at a smaller scale of course. We designed our models from the beginning with high detail so we could use them for cut-scenes as well as in-game.
You will be seeing a lot of cut-scenes at different 'occasions', more than it's been done in past games of this genre.

I was told by the in-house psychologist (yes, we do employ one!) that the lezgoon seemed the most interesting. I daresay because we revealed the most about them. Still after your post, she did say 'I told you so!' |
