Modding is now available

Post by Zaimat »

Once you are on the game main menu you can use the Mods button, clicking it will display some samples you can try. Enabling/disabling any mods will only take effect after you restart the game.

For more information check out this post

If you have any questions about modding feel free to post it in this forum, we will try to help as best we can.

+ Beta Modding branch has been updated with the latest live version changes.
+ Inheritance issue for Race ogv videos will now work correctly from the mods folders. Some other videos like race encounters also have the inheritance issue and we plan to change that in a later update.

+ Beta modding branch has been updated to latest test version, providing support for changing music tracks, race homeworld and encounter cut-scenes
+ Many new functions have been added to scripting and documented on the wiki pages
+ A new sample mod has been added that unlocks the 3 non-playable races. This also allows modding these race slots.

Hi Zaimat,

You mention "providing support for changing music tracks." Is there an easy way for a non-modder to add more ambient.ogg files? Love playing this game. Thanks!

Welcome Sraytho to the boards :)

Currently the game only supports replacing (but not adding to) the original music files. This can be done very quickly and easily via a custom mod. (see this post)

If you plan on changing music tracks regularly you can always just mute the volume for the in game music and have your music player run in the background.
