Pink square causes game to crash.

Post by TjStorm88 »

Hi,

I recently purchased this game at the urging of a friend.
Ive been playing for the last 4 days and it seems that i have come across a bug that has yet to be listed on this forum.

After some time of the playing the game, I will go to the design screen and i will see a huge pink/purple square fill the entirety of the pop up screen.

I can close the screen and the square disappears. I open it back up the square is then seemly stuck to the design screen. I have tried 'turning' a few times, but this doesn't fix the problem.

I can save the game, but the game will crash when I try to go back to the main menu.

I load up the game and go into my save and the bug has vanished. I play for some more time and suddenly the square will be back.

For the first hour or so the design screen is fine, then the Pink/Purple square is back.

Any suggestions?

Thank You,
Regards,
TjStorm

This is usually related to low memory or texture corruption in memory/video card (texture is lost and it shows purple instead).

Make sure to get the latest game update (1.0.0.78), we have reduced the required memory when using medium texture quality instead of using the previous high setting. Let us know if this helps or if you continue having this problem.

I noticed this as well a few times and I can confirm its related to the low memory problem.
Since the game autosaves each turn, you dont need to manually save the game.
So you can just exit the game, start it back up, and then click continue in the menu.
The game will resume for the last autosave, and the pink screen issue will be gone again.

I have not had the problem since the memory requirements was reduced so getting the latest update is absolutely recommended.
