RESOLVED - [1.0.0.92] Liberated race is not reinstalled

Post by Xyquas »

In my last game I was forced to war by the Tantik (surprise). Before declaration of war, the Gargals have been wiped out in the galaxy.
After invading one of the Tantik's planets, I was asked if I want to liberate the Gargals living there. I chose "Yes" (Option 1, I think) and expected the Gargals to be reinstalled as interactable race but this did not happen.
So I think there is a bug either on one or the other side.

Scenario 1:
The idea was that a once wiped out empire shall not be installed ever again as it has no government. If this is the case, I don't see how above mentioned question makes sense. I'd rather expect that I have the same choice as if I invaded the planet first (assimilate, exterminate, enslave) but with assimilation going to 100% more quickly. Something like "The Gargals are happy you have evicted their occupying powers and ask to join you."

Scenario 2:
The question is there on purpose. Then I'd expect the race to be reinstalled with good relations to the liberator.

Scenario 3:
The current behaviour is intended exacly like it is. If this is the case, please explain the backing thoughts as they evade me :?
Master Of Orion 2 = Great
Master Of Orion 3 = Trash
Horizon = The real Master Of Orion 3 :-)

It could be that once they are liberated, they are simply not powerful enough to be considered a major power in the galaxy.

After having been enslaved it could be the intention is that they simply do not have the resources to go into space anymore.

Thanks for bringing this up. We have made a change (for the next update) so it will no longer ask you to liberate a defeated race but rather assimilate/subjugate/exterminate. This would be the intended effect at this time for defeated races.

I do like the proposed Scenarios. If we could expand on this in the future I can see more options being made available in such scenarios such as "install puppet government" or restore native government with good relations.
